Inspired by my children and my love for fashion, I decided to leave my career in law and pursue my dream of launching my own childrenswear business. Bringing together my daughters’ names, Dorothy and Violet, DottyandV was created in 2020.
Being a mummy to three, I am always shopping for clothes! I look for long-lasting clothing that can be passed on to siblings; practical clothing whether for play or parties; quality pieces that can be dressed up or down. With this in mind, I wanted to bring together a collection of sustainable fashion brands that design high quality and ethically-made clothing without compromising on style or comfort.
Children want fun clothing whilst parents want to dress their children in clothes that are functional and made to last. At DottyandV, I would like parents to be able to find style and substance for boys and girls, aged 0 to 11, and enjoy an effortless shopping experience by having a collection of brands in one place.
I am delighted to stock collections from Piccalilly, Turtledove London, Lilly and Sid, Me & Henry, Vignette, Mousqueton and Didriksons – these brands are passionate about the quality of their collections and offer parents timeless, stylish and sustainable clothing. I have also created my own label, BigErnClothing, named after my son, Ernest, featuring a selection of essential, everyday bright basics for boys and girls aged 1 to 12.
Whether it’s an outfit for play, parties or exploring the great outdoors, parents can find one off pieces or complete a whole look at DottyandV.
I opened my first boutique in the beautiful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale on 12 April 2021 and we were nominated as Finalists in the Emerging Family Business category for the North West Family Business Awards 2022 in March 2022.
